Lady Cats Fastpitch Program Shows Promise
The Bainbridge Lady Cats fastpitch program has a bright future ahead. Eight players were named to the 3A Region-1 teams, with five returning players earning First-Team honors and three rising stars on the second team.
The First-Team honorees include shortstop and pitcher Auburn Culpepper, catcher Tatum Burris, infielder Zykiah Donaldson, pitcher and first baseman Emsleigh Glass, and third baseman Kylaha Hughes. The second team consists of junior infielder Katelyn Williams, sophomore outfielder Kallie Alderman, and sophomore outfielder Alyssa Madge.
"We faced a tough schedule, but the girls began to buy in, and by the end, you could feel the culture shifting,"
said Alaynie Bryant, the Bainbridge fastpitch head coach. This momentum, combined with the return of many players next year, gives the team a chance to build on their progress and develop the necessary leadership.
