Six Flags America, the sole Maryland location of the amusement park chain, has closed its doors for good.
The park's parent company, which manages over 40 amusement parks across North America, announced the closure in May.
"We will feel its loss," said Lise Bruneau, a longtime visitor. "I feel it already."
For many, like Bruneau, the park holds generations' worth of memories. It was a place where families could come together and create lasting experiences.
Author's summary: Six Flags America closes permanently.
