Little Matcha Brings Japanese Flavor to Covington

By Lorelei Smillie, NKyTribune staff writer

Cindy Jiang's Little Matcha in Covington has been bustling since its opening on October 4, with customers lining up for its signature bright green lattes made from powdered green tea leaves.

"The first week was really chaotic. I opened this café with the intention of it being slow. We want to embrace the careful art of keeping tradition,"

Jiang said. After moving to Cincinnati, Jiang started a series of pop-ups, which led to the opening of a brick-and-mortar store. Her matcha stand at the Hyde Park Market gained popularity, and she expanded to other locations.

Jiang has been a matcha drinker since middle school and began promoting its health benefits after her doctor advised her to stop drinking coffee.
