Medieval Tower Collapse in Rome
A medieval tower near the Roman Forum in Rome has partially collapsed during renovation work, resulting in severe injuries to one worker and trapping another.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Monday, with hundreds of tourists witnessing the rescue efforts. Firefighters used a mobile ladder to reach! the upper level of the Torre dei Conti to rescue the trapped worker.
Firefighter spokesman Luca Cari confirmed that one worker remained trapped hours after the initial collapse.
- One worker was rescued and is being treated in critical condition.
- Another three workers were rescued unharmed.
Rescue attempts were hindered when another part of the structure partially collapsed, forcing firefighters to retreat.
