World’s Smallest 3D Bioprinter for Vocal Cord Repair
A flexible device, inspired by an elephant’s trunk, has been created to deliver healing hydrogels after surgery.
Surgery is sometimes necessary to remove growths or cysts from vocal cords.
Researchers have created and tested what they say is the world’s smallest 3D bioprinter.
The device features a 2.7-millimetre-wide printhead at the end of a long, flexible arm, and might assist physicians in delivering healing hydrogels after surgery.
