Max Verstappen rues poor Brazil GP Sprint Qualifying

Max Verstappen expressed frustration after qualifying only sixth for the Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix Sprint Race. The Red Bull driver called his RB21 “undriveable,” struggling to find performance compared to rivals McLaren and Mercedes.

The Dutchman admitted his car was far from competitive at Interlagos, even trailing behind Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin. Starting from the dirty side of the grid, Verstappen faced a tough challenge ahead of the sprint.

“No, I mean, yeah, a lot of vibration in the car, a lot of just ride problems,” he said. “So, yeah, not what we want, but besides that, I think also we just don’t have the grip.”

“The middle sector is terrible, so I just can’t get the car to turn, but at the same time also I can’t really rely on the rear. So, yeah, for us it’s just quite poor, I would say.”

Despite these issues, Verstappen has previously shown resilience at Interlagos, famously taking victory in difficult wet conditions the previous year, even with a less capable car.
