On this Remembrance Day, the University of Manchester invites everyone to pause and honour all who have served and sacrificed in past and present conflicts. It is a moment to acknowledge their courage and appreciate their lasting contribution to our freedom.
The University also extends its gratitude and support to current and former members of the Armed Forces and their families. Across Manchester, many local places of worship will observe a two-minute silence as part of the commemoration.
At the University campus, a two-minute silence will take place at The Holy Name Church on 9 November at 11 a.m. Members of the community are encouraged to attend or contact their local places of worship for details of their own observances.
The North West Officer Training Corps, University representatives, Multifaith Chaplains, members of the university community, and the public will come together in John Owen’s Quad at 10:45 a.m. The silence will start promptly at 11 a.m., so attendees are asked to arrive before 10:45 a.m.
"We pause to remember and honour all those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present."
