Flinders Port Holdings unveiled a custom-built float celebrating maritime trade at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide, emphasizing its role in bringing festive joy to South Australians.
Highlighting the importance of maritime trade, the company’s float joined the city’s iconic parade, which begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, marked by the traditional golden whistle. Since 1933, the Christmas Pageant has signaled the start of South Australia’s festive season, attracting thousands to the city streets.
“We are thrilled to finally unveil our FPH float,” said Flinders Port Holdings in a social media post.
“The float celebrates the vital role maritime trade plays in bringing festive joy and presents to South Australians each year.”
Flinders Port Holdings described the float as the first custom-built entry in five years. It features a replica Pilot boat, a team of straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves checking off Christmas gifts. A blue fabric ruffle at its base creates the illusion of the Pilot Boat gliding across the water.
The float was officially launched at Outer Harbor earlier in the week, where members of the FPH team joined in the celebrations.
