Edinburgh Trams to Commemorate Remembrance Day
Edinburgh Trams will honor Remembrance Sunday (9 November) and Armistice Day (11 November) to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in World War I, World War II, and recent conflicts.
To recognize the sacrifices of armed forces members, Edinburgh Trams will offer free travel to veterans and serving personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force on both days. Eligibility requires showing military ID or wearing a uniform.
Remembrance Activities
- Members of Poppy Scotland will be at Haymarket tram stop before the days of remembrance, selling poppies for those who wish to support.
- Poppies will also be displayed in tram windows throughout the period.
- Where conditions allow, trams will pause at 11 a.m. to observe a two-minute silence on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
