High Wind Warning Issued for Our Area
A Wind Advisory has been issued for our area by NOAA, effective from tonight to Wednesday, with gusty southerly winds expected at 35-55 mph and isolated gusts of 65 mph.
Residents are advised to be prepared for potential power outages, with tree limbs possibly being blown down. It is recommended to have flashlights and extra batteries on hand.

A High Wind Warning is issued when winds are expected to reach 40 mph or more, and wind gusts are expected to reach 58 mph or more. These warnings help prepare for potential property damage, disruptions to outdoor activities, and transportation issues, such as road closures due to fallen trees or power lines.
Fast winds can make things much more dangerous in places where there’s a bigger chance of wildfires.
In such cases, the National Weather Service issues a Red Flag Warning when it is very windy and dry.
