A 48-year-old man, Jason Rook, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for fatally shooting his ex's boyfriend, Nathan Rogers, 46.
Rook pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and first-degree stalking, a felony, in exchange for dismissed charges of burglary, destruction of evidence, and a notice of intent to seek the death penalty.
"It is the picture of domestic violence horror,"
said First District Judge Barry McHugh before handing down the sentence.
