Collision in Sudbury Causes Life-Threatening Injuries

A 20-year-old man from Sudbury has been charged after a two-vehicle collision in Sault Ste. Marie left one person with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the incident occurred on October when a driver failed to stop at a stop sign and struck another vehicle at the intersection of Cathcart Street and Huron Street.

The occupants of the vehicle that allegedly ran the stop sign fled the scene on foot, but were quickly located by officers nearby. The driver, identified as Denis Leduc, 20, was arrested at the scene.

Two people from the other vehicle were taken to the hospital by paramedics. Leduc, who already has a long criminal record, is facing a list of charges.

Police say the 20-year-old suspect fled on foot after running a stop sign and crashing a stolen vehicle, leaving one victim with life-threatening injuries.
