Fatal Road Traffic Collision in Loughgeorge
A man in his 80's has died following a road traffic collision in Loughgeorge.
The incident occurred shortly after 11:30pm when a car struck a pedestrian at Peake, on the Tuam Road.
- Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene.
- The pedestrian was pronounced dead.
- The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was brought to hospital for assessment with non-life-threatening injuries.
The N83 between Claregalway and Knockdoe remains closed with diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
They are also asking road users with camera footage, including dash-cam, to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
