Halloween '78: Live at the Palladium, NY Super Deluxe
The compositional skill and technical chops of Frank Zappa and his band are on display in this live recording from Halloween night 1978 in New York City.
This is the fourth Super Deluxe box set from Zappa's Halloween shows, following previous releases from 1977, 1973, and 1981.
- 1977 box set: included a mask and vinyl suit inspired by Zappa's Baby Snakes era
- 1973 box set: commemorated shows at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre with a "Frankenzappa" costume
- 1981 concerts: included a "Count Frankula" set
The current set features a diabolical Frank mask with red horns and a light-up pitchfork, along with a "grimoire" book containing artwork, concert photos by Lynn Goldsmith, and liner notes by Joe Travers, plus five CDs with over five hours of live concert audio.
