Pumpkin Carving Contest at 1718 Brewing Ocracoke
Text and photos by Connie Leinbach. The brewery was packed on Thursday night as islanders and visitors showed off their pumpkin-carving skills.
At least 63 pumpkins are on display and can be viewed today (Oct. 31) and Saturday (Nov. 1). Visitors can vote for their favorites in the people's choice judging.
Jacqui Kalna, co-owner of the brewery, announced that the first, second, and third-place winners will be announced on Saturday.
The event featured live music by Brooke & Nick, and a crowd of adults and children carving pumpkins.
