Jeremy Allen White says he wore hand-painted contact lenses to play Springsteen | Meath Chronicle

Jeremy Allen White's Transformation into Bruce Springsteen

US actor Jeremy Allen White wore hand-painted contact lenses to play Bruce Springsteen in a new biographical film, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.

According to White, the contact lenses had "little weights" inside to keep them still, as clear contacts tend to move around. The lenses were brown-colored, as White has blue eyes.

They took very close-up shots of Bruce's eyes, and they had someone hand-paint the contacts so that all the little lines and details of the eyes were with me, and then they had to put little weights in the contacts to keep them still.

The film follows Springsteen as he crafts his seminal country-folk album Nebraska. White, 34, discussed his experience on the Table Manners podcast.

Author's summary: Jeremy Allen White wore special contacts to portray Bruce Springsteen.
