Maria Larson's Mural Depicts Local Identity

By Alyssa DuVall, Reader Contributor. Local artist Maria Larson and her husband, Lars, painted a 45-foot mural on the exterior of Sandpoint Super Drug.

The "Sandpoint Now and Then" mural is a custom painting that celebrates the town, featuring its natural wonders, such as animals, mountains, trees, and open skies.

Passersby shouted, "Thank you!", "It's beautiful!", and "We love you!" as they drove by the mural.

Maria's work reminds us that the natural beauty surrounding us is anything but commonplace.
