Chiefs Re-sign Mike Pennel

The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed veteran defensive tackle Mike Pennel, who was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday.

Pennel has spent four seasons with the Chiefs and was part of their Super Bowl wins in 2019 and 2023.

Congrats to @TheBeastPennel on his return to the @Chiefs today.

The 34-year-old native of Topeka, Kansas, played eight games with the Bengals after being released by the Chiefs at the end of the preseason.

His signing was confirmed by his agent, Andy Simms, and Pennel was back on the practice field Wednesday as the Chiefs prepare for an AFC Championship Game rematch with the Buffalo Bills.

Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones had recently advocated for Pennel's return, and his wish was granted.
