The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed defensive tackle Mike Pennel, who played eight games with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Pennel was released by the Bengals after Week 8 and has now returned to Kansas City, where he had two separate two-year stints since 2019.
The Chiefs made room on the 53-man roster by releasing defensive end Malik Herring, and Pennel's signing is expected to help the team's run-stuffing capabilities.
Pennel gives the Chiefs a familiar face and known presence in the defensive interior.
