A truck transporting "aggressive" research monkeys from Tulane University overturned on a Mississippi highway, resulting in the escape of the primates.
According to the Jasper County Mississippi Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Tuesday. Authorities reported that all but one of the escaped monkeys were "destroyed". The search for the remaining monkey is ongoing.
A spokesperson for Tulane University said the school was not consulted regarding the destruction of the monkeys.
