Michael Clark Murder Defense Seeks to Link Case to JonBenét Investigation 'Mistakes'

Michael Clark, facing a retrial for a 1994 murder, seeks documents that link his case with the infamous 1996 JonBenét Ramsey investigation.

In new legal filings, Clark's defense team claims that alleged Boulder police missteps in his case are connected to the city's most notorious cold case: JonBenét Ramsey.

The defense has issued 12 subpoenas to Boulder authorities seeking documents and other information connected to the Clark case in advance of his scheduled 2026 retrial.

Clark was convicted in 2012 and sentenced to life without parole for the killing of Marty Grisham, a crime he has maintained for over 30 years that he did not commit.

The case went unsolved for 17 years before being resurrected largely on the strength of later DNA analysis and testimony from now-discredited forensic scientist Yvonne Woods.

Author's summary: Michael Clark's defense team links his case to JonBenét Ramsey investigation.
