“It is imperative that we scale,”

said Tekedra Mawakana, co-CEO of Waymo, while speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025. The company plans to increase its weekly autonomous rides from the “hundreds of thousands” to one million by the end of 2026, with a focus on safety above all else.
