Sweden’s still ahead in the preparedness game — and now it means business

Sweden's Preparedness Efforts

Sweden is once again leading the way in preparedness, this time with a focus on businesses. According to Elisabeth Braw, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, informing companies of potential threats and how to prepare is becoming increasingly important in today's geopolitical landscape.

In 2018, Sweden made headlines with its "In Case of Crisis or War" leaflet, which was sent to all households in the country. This initiative has since inspired a trend across Europe. Now, Sweden is taking it a step further with a preparedness leaflet specifically designed for businesses.

Informing companies about threats that could harm them, and how they can prepare, makes perfect sense.

As a regular columnist for POLITICO and author of the award-winning "Goodbye Globalization", Elisabeth Braw notes that Sweden's efforts are a significant step forward in preparing businesses for potential crises.

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, or MSB, has been at the forefront of these efforts, having sent the original "In Case of Crisis or War" leaflet to every household in 2018.

Author's summary: Sweden leads in business preparedness efforts.
