The new-generation Toyota HiLux has surfaced online mere hours before its planned unveiling, revealing a bold redesign for the brand’s best-selling ute.
Images shared on Instagram by @bfmsoficial—originally from a video published prematurely by Auto Societies—showcase the updated truck expected to be revealed later today.
While the HiLux retains its existing platform and cabin structure from the A- to C-pillars, it sports a fresh exterior. The front features narrow headlights, a square-shaped grille, and sharper edges. The rear has been reworked with a stronger, more rugged appearance and a tailgate bearing the stamped word ‘TOYOTA’.

Several versions have been spotted, including the Prerunner, Overland, 4Trex, and an electric model believed to be named the Travo-e. These variants, except for the electric one, are said to retain the 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine known as the 1GD-FTV, common in the Australian HiLux lineup.
Excluding the electric HiLux, all other variants are powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, believed to be a carry-over of the ‘1GD-FTV’.
In Thailand, the model is marketed as the HiLux Travo. Official details and performance specifications are expected to be confirmed later today following the global debut.
