Renell Robert, affectionately remembered as “So beautiful,” was born in Donaldsonville, Louisiana to Dorothy and Lester Robert. He had a deep love for all things Louisiana, from fishing and hunting to family gatherings and Tulane football. Renell's greatest joy was showing affection to his grandchildren.
After graduating from Gonzales High School, Renell served proudly in the United States Coast Guard and was a decorated Vietnam veteran. He pursued further education at Southeastern Louisiana University and enjoyed a long career of over 30 years working alongside his brothers at Ciba Geigy/Syngenta.
Known as the family “Fix-It,” Renell loved restoring broken things and making them beautiful again. He spent much time tending to his yard and planting flowers. He cherished every day with his wife of 13 years, Lillie.
The loves of his life were his daughters, Robyn and Rebecca. There was never a greater look of pride on Renell’s face than when he spoke about them. His special bond with his siblings—Phyllis, Dale, Faryl, Rickey, Kirk, and Keeley—ensured there was never a dull moment in the Robert household.
Renell's grandchildren completed his heart: Sophia, Gavin, Cohen, Colin, Connor, Kaylee, Brady, Chloe, Max, and Bellamie. His love for them was as bright as sunshine.
“Poppa loves those babies more than sunshine.”
“So beautiful” – two words that stayed on the lips of Renell Robert.
