Boca Raton officials are actively encouraging New Yorkers and their businesses to relocate to their city following the election of Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, as New York City's mayor.
Zohran Mamdani, 34, secured a decisive win as the Democratic nominee in New York City's mayoral race. He will become the first Muslim and first Asian American mayor of the nation's largest city. Mamdani defeated his closest opponent, former Governor Cuomo, who ran as an independent after losing the Democratic primary.
The campaign was contentious, marked by Democratic divisions over Mamdani's ambitious policies and his previous criticisms of Israel and the NYPD.
Following Mamdani's win, Boca Raton's Mayor Scott Singer intensified efforts to attract New Yorkers to their city. He used social media and television appearances to promote Boca Raton as a business-friendly alternative.
"Expected to be a busy day. Many companies have already made the move. If you’re thinking about it now, we can help!" — Scott Singer on X (formerly Twitter)
Singer also appeared on The Benny Johnson Show, a conservative political commentary program, where he invited New Yorkers to relocate.
"Come to Florida. We’re here to celebrate and propel business, not overregulate it and defeat it." — Scott Singer
Boca Raton is leveraging Zohran Mamdani's mayoral win to attract New Yorkers seeking a more business-friendly environment.
