Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has once more voiced strong criticism of France's Ligue 1 during a recent interview. The former Real Madrid icon delivered pointed remarks about the league's competitiveness and dominance by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
In an extensive conversation with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo expressed his view that Ligue 1 revolves mainly around PSG. He stated:
"The Saudi Pro League is much better than the Portuguese league and Ligue 1, where there’s only PSG. For me, it’s easier to score in La Liga than in the Saudi Pro League."
He further added:
"They can say whatever they want, but the numbers don’t lie. They’ve never played in the Saudi Pro League. They don’t know what it’s like to run under 40°C heat. Just look at the number of top-level players we have in the league. If I were playing right now for a big Premier League team, I’d still be scoring just as many goals."
This is not the first time Ronaldo has criticized Ligue 1, emphasizing the league's lack of balance beyond PSG and comparing it unfavorably to other competitions like the Saudi Pro League and La Liga.
Author's summary: Cristiano Ronaldo sharply criticizes Ligue 1, claiming the league revolves only around PSG and praises the Saudi Pro League as superior, challenging traditional European football hierarchies.
