The shift from daily job actions to rotating strikes has not weakened the message from Peace region postal workers, according to the union’s local president.
Babe Seguin, president of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) local chapter 738, told Energeticcity.ca that postal workers in the region had been on daily strikes since September to raise awareness about potential rural post office closures. The strike strategy has now moved to rotating strikes.
These offices were previously protected by a moratorium that could be lifted as part of proposed mail service cutbacks.
