Several well-known celebrities have achieved great success despite not completing high school. Their stories show that formal education isn't the only path to achievement.
Jeremy Allen White, star of the series The Bear, recently shared a heartwarming moment connected to his education. Though he never graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City, a former teacher surprised him at the premiere of his new movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.
“I wasn’t a good student because I didn’t go to school enough,” he revealed on the October 23 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark.
After the film, his teacher gifted him his high school diploma, saying:
“Ah, you don’t have to do this, this is crazy, what are you giving me a gift for?” And I open it up, and it is my high school diploma. So… at 34 years old, I graduated high school!”
Nicole Kidman, who has won two Oscars, openly admits she left school before graduating. Speaking on 60 Minutes, the 51-year-old expressed some regret about being a high school dropout.
“I’m a high school dropout, which I’m not proud to say,” she shared. “I had some teachers that I still think of fondly and were amazing to me.”
By age 15, her passion for acting was clear, prompting her move to Los Angeles to pursue her career.
These examples prove that success is possible even without a high school diploma, as passion and perseverance can open many doors.
