On November 7, the leadership of the Krasnodar Territory declared that initiating a ferry service between Sochi, Russia, and Trabzon, Turkey, is currently unfeasible due to unresolved security concerns.
"The position regarding the situation with the Seabridge ferry has not changed, safety issues during the launch of the service have not been resolved and remain relevant, the organization of an international cargo and passenger ferry service in the current conditions is premature."
The authorities stressed that these unresolved security matters continue to hinder the possibility of establishing this international route at present.
