Burgess Hill Youth marked 15 years of supporting young carers with a special anniversary party on 28 October. The celebration highlighted a decade and a half of fun days, trips, and much-needed breaks for local children caring for family members.
The event, supported by Burgess Hill Town Council, featured party games, cake, and an entertaining science show by “Lava Leigh,” which included giant bubbles and volcanic eruptions.
Since its launch in 2010, Burgess Hill Youth has provided hundreds of young carers with opportunities to relax and enjoy activities like crafts, pizza making, pantomime trips, and visits to outdoor adventure centers.

“The sessions offer fun and enjoyable experiences to young people who carry on without complaint or expecting any reward,” said Jackie Cooper, chair of Burgess Hill Youth.
