The National Weather Service (NWS) has alerted several Texas counties about dense fog expected to persist until Thursday morning, significantly reducing visibility to less than a quarter mile in some areas.
The fog will create hazardous driving conditions, potentially affecting Thursday's morning commute. According to the Department of Transportation, low visibility from fog causes over 38,700 vehicle crashes annually.
The dense fog is expected to reduce visibility to a quarter mile or less from overnight Wednesday through Thursday morning.
