Glass Returns as Devils Face Canadiens

The New Jersey Devils will host the Montreal Canadiens at Prudential Center to start a three-game homestand. The winner of tonight’s game will be the first team in the league to reach 10 wins this season.

Game Preview

The Devils prepared with a morning skate at Prudential Center ahead of their Thursday night matchup against Montreal. Center Cody Glass took part in line rushes and is set to return after missing seven games due to an upper-body injury.

"It was a weird injury to have, it popped out of nowhere," Glass said. "I'm happy to be back with the guys."

Glass confirmed he is fully recovered and does not expect any limitations. "I'm just trying to jump right into it, get hit, see how it goes. It's hockey."

Forward Connor Brown, who practiced yesterday but missed the previous two games, was not on the ice.

Lineup Adjustments

With Glass back, the Devils can restore the lineup that fueled their eight-game winning streak. Glass returns to his 3C position, allowing Mercer to shift to wing and reunite with Nico Hischier and Timo Meier.

This move also eases some defensive responsibilities for rookie Arseny Gritsyuk, who will move down to the third line.

Author's summary: With Cody Glass returning from injury, the New Jersey Devils aim to continue their winning streak against Montreal while adjusting their lines for optimal performance.
