All Her Fault: Sarah Snook on Playing a Successful Mom's Worst Nightmare

Emmy winner Sarah Snook, known for her role in Succession, stars in and executive produces Peacock’s gripping thriller All Her Fault, based on Andrea Mara’s bestselling novel. The eight-episode series, which premiered on November 6, 2025, centers on Marissa, a self-made wealth manager whose young son, Milo, mysteriously disappears during a playdate.

Marissa and her husband, Peter (played by Jake Lacy from Apples Never Fall), believed Milo to be safe with a classmate, but when Marissa goes to pick him up, she finds him missing.

Portraying the Trauma

At a recent press conference, Sarah Snook shared the emotional challenges of embodying Marissa’s harrowing experience. She emphasized the importance of portraying the trauma authentically without exaggeration.

“It is high drama, but like getting into this hysterical, histrionic overreacting … like finding the kernel of truth in these things. Like, ‘What is it like to have your child go missing? What is that like?’ For this person like that, that was the hardest thing to constantly make sure that we were delving down into what is the truthful version of this.”

Snook explained the emotional demands during filming: “We’re during the first read through and I write on the first page: ‘Must find different ways to cry.’ Because I was crying all the time, dealing with what’s happening. Finding different levels of like, ‘Okay, this is level 10.’”
