Three men have been charged with the murder of Kyle Bevan, who was found dead in his prison cell at HMP Wakefield on Wednesday, 5 November.
Fellows and Newell confirmed their personal details and acknowledged understanding the charges. Taylor stated:
“Absolutely not. I'm innocent.”
The hearings lasted just over one minute each.
Kyle Bevan was sentenced in April 2023 to at least 28 years for the murder of Lola James, his partner’s two-year-old daughter. He inflicted severe head injuries on the toddler during a prolonged six-hour attack in 2020 in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
District Judge Charlotte Holland ordered the defendants to remain in custody pending a pre-trial preparation hearing on Monday.
Summary: Three prisoners face murder charges after the death of Kyle Bevan, a convicted child killer, following brief court hearings with remand pending further trial preparation.
