Macklin Celebrini recorded a goal and two assists as the San Jose Sharks won 6-1 over the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday. The Sharks have now won four of their last six games.
“Our penalty kill was really good tonight. So that helps,” said Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky. “I thought our game got better as the game went on.”
Ryan Winterton scored his first NHL goal to tie the game at 1-1, finishing Seattle’s five-game homestand with a 2-1-2 record. Goalie Joey Daccord made 15 saves before being replaced by Matt Murray in the third period, who added three saves in relief.
“Disconnected in a bunch of different areas,” Kraken coach Lane Lambert said. “Our structure wasn't good enough tonight.”
Celebrini opened the scoring 1:08 into the first period with a wrist shot from the slot after receiving a pass from Toffoli. Reflecting on the play, Celebrini said,
“I was just in the slot and just there to put it in. [Smith and Toffoli], they did a great job, getting on their D and forcing a turnover.”
Winterton’s goal tied the game 1-1 at 16:30 before the Sharks pulled away with additional goals.
The San Jose Sharks utilized strong teamwork and solid goaltending to dominate the Seattle Kraken, showcasing improvement and effective special teams play.
