China-Laos International Passenger Line Launched

A new international passenger rail line began trial operations on Monday, connecting Mohan Railway Station in Mengla County, Yunnan Province, China, with Boten Railway Station in Laos. This marks the first commuter-style international passenger route between the two countries.

Service Details

The line offers five round-trips daily in each direction.
The total travel distance is 16 kilometers, with a journey time of about 50 minutes.
The train stops at both border ports for passenger boarding and customs clearance.

Operator's Commitment

Xia Mo, deputy general manager of Yunnan Tourism Co Ltd, said the company will uphold the service philosophy of “safety, professionalism, and dedication” to ensure travelers experience “the convenience and warmth of this road of friendship.”
