airBaltic Launches Direct Flights Between Gran Canaria and Molde

airBaltic has introduced a new weekly service linking Gran Canaria and Molde, further strengthening travel connections across the Baltics, Scandinavia, and Central Europe. The airline will operate flights every Wednesday through early April 2026.

Expanding Gran Canaria’s Connectivity

This winter season, airBaltic will operate seven direct routes from Gran Canaria to destinations such as Billund (Denmark), Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), and Vilnius (Lithuania). These routes aim to enhance accessibility between southern and northern Europe.

Tourism and Market Expectations

“The new route between the two cities is expected to attract more tourists from Norway to Gran Canaria during the colder months, when travellers in Northern Europe are seeking sunny and warm destinations, while also providing residents of Gran Canaria the opportunity to explore Norway’s stunning natural landscapes. We are grateful to our partners in Gran Canaria for supporting this expansion, which improves the island’s connectivity to a variety of destinations in Europe.”

These remarks by Thoms Ramdal, Chief Commercial Officer at airBaltic, highlight the airline’s goal of fostering tourism and creating greater opportunities for cultural exchange between regions.

Flight Details and Comfort

The flights will be operated using the modern Airbus A220-300 aircraft, known for their comfortable seating, spacious overhead compartments, and larger windows. The approximate flight duration between Gran Canaria and Molde is 5 hours and 40 minutes.
