Aimee Lou Wood shares how Angelina Jolie supported her on 'Anxious People' set

Los Angeles, Nov 6 (PTI) — Actor Aimee Lou Wood, known for her roles in “The White Lotus” and “Sex Education,” revealed that Angelina Jolie supported her during a stressful moment while filming the Marc Forster movie “Anxious People.”

A moment of support on set

Lou Wood shared that she began to panic during an emotional scene when several people were giving her instructions at once. Feeling overwhelmed, she decided to express her discomfort.

“I've spent years feeling unable to say anything like that for fear of seeming argumentative – but now I feel like I can take ownership of what I need to thrive, and tell people what won’t work for me,” said Lou Wood.

She added that when she finally spoke up, Angelina Jolie offered her silent encouragement.

“When I spoke up, all I could see was Angelina giving me a thumbs up. She’s possibly the most famous woman ever, but she’s so normal.”

Criticism of parody and life in Los Angeles

Earlier, Lou Wood had criticized “Saturday Night Live” for parodying her character from “The White Lotus,” where comedian Sarah Sherman used fake buck teeth to imitate her. The actor, who has previously discussed her struggles with body image, also reflected candidly on her life in Los Angeles.

“I find LA emotionally bulimic… I say that as an ex-bulimic. It’s this super-sized adventure where everyone’s talking about you all the time and you have to talk about yourself all the time. And then I leave, and I want to throw it all up.”

About the film
