Viasat’s newest satellite, ViaSat-3 F2, the second in its fleet expansion, has experienced a 24-hour launch delay.
The launch was originally scheduled for late evening on November 5th from Cape Canaveral’s Complex 41, aboard United Launch Alliance’s Atlas V rocket.
ULA Launch Director James Whelan stated that countdown operations were halted due to an issue with the booster’s liquid oxygen tank vent valve during final checkouts.
The new launch attempt is set for November 6th at 10:16 p.m. EST, opening a 44-minute window for liftoff.
After launch, the rocket will take approximately three and a half hours to reach its geostationary transfer orbit, where the satellite will undergo testing before moving to its final orbit.
