The father of Axel Rudakubana, who murdered three young girls during a stabbing attack in Southport, UK, shared insights into his son's violent behavior during a Wednesday inquiry.
Axel Rudakubana was sentenced to life imprisonment in January for the stabbing rampage at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in northwest England. The attack resulted in the deaths of three girls and sparked one of Britain's worst riots in decades.
Speaking from an undisclosed location, Alphonse Rudakubana described his son as having frequent violent outbursts, sometimes occurring twice daily.
"He used to beat me up,"
Alphonse recalled one disturbing incident where Axel poured oil over his head.
"If you get me out of here, this house, it may take a day, it may take a week, maybe a month, maybe years, I will kill you and trust me I will kill you."
Alphonse, who moved to Britain after surviving the 1994 Rwandan genocide, noted that Axel’s behavior shifted notably after being expelled from secondary school in 2019 for carrying a knife.
He added that Axel was initially "a beautiful boy" when he started school, indicating a striking change over time.
Following the tragedy, UK police announced plans to share suspects’ ethnicity in sensitive cases to improve transparency.
The inquiry reveals how Axel Rudakubana’s violent tendencies and troubled past culminated in a devastating attack that shocked the UK community.
